MUNDUS VINI Spring Tasting 2019

Around 7,200 wines from all over the world // Tasting debut for wines from China // 260 international experts assess the entries

Around 7,200 wines from 156 wine-growing regions around the world are set to be tasted and assessed at the 24th Grand International Wine Award MUNDUS VINI. This will also mark the first-time entry for wines from China. A jury of 260 experts will judge the wines submitted – including more than 70 Chinese wines – in the Saalbau in Neustadt, Germany. The best wines will be awarded the recognised and highly coveted Silver, Gold and Grand Gold medals. The competition will run from 19 to 24 February.

The majority of wines at this year’s Spring Tasting are from Italy (1,856), followed by Spain (1,458), France (898), Portugal (680) and Germany (667).

The results of the MUNDUS VINI Spring Tasting 2019 will be published on MEININGER ONLINE on Tuesday, 26 February 2019.

The winners of the MUNDUS VINI Spring Tasting will also be presented to trade visitors at the world’s largest trade fair for wines and spirits, ProWein in Düsseldorf, from 17 to 19 March 2019 in the MUNDUS VINI Tasting Area. Wines receiving a highly coveted special award will be honoured on the first day of the trade fair at a top-class awards ceremony, where certificates will be handed out to the winemakers by the Board of MUNDUS VINI.
