The Szekszárd wine region
We cultivate 37 hectares of vineyards in the most famous valleys of the historic wine region: Görögszó, Bodzás Valley, Porkoláb Valley, Alsónána and Palánki Hill. In accordance with the characteristics of Szekszárd, most of our offer is made up of red varieties, our flagship wines are Szekszárd Bull’s Blood, Kékfrankos and Kadarka.
Winemaking and tradition
The history of grape growing within the Eszterbauer family can be traced back to 1746 in the archival data of Szekszárd. Grapes and wine always played a prominent role in the lives of our great-great-grandfathers and great-grandfathers - who had Hungarian, Bavarian and South Slavic roots -, as evidenced by our nearly 100-year-old photos from the family archive. Today, the representatives of the 10th and 11th generations carry on the values that served as the basis of the peasant bourgeois society of our ancestors. As a sign of respect for our ancestors, we display pictures of them on our wine labels. The head of our winery is János Eszterbauer, who runs the tradition-based business with his wife Mónika, daughters Ildikó and Kata, and winemaker Miklós Klein.
The wine- and guesthouse
In our representative wine and guest house, we welcome guests who wish to enjoy quality wine tasting. We offer our dear guests wine tasting and local dishes in a wonderful environment that can accommodate up to 60 people. High-quality accommodation is also available for 8 people. For larger groups, we recommend nearby hotels and apartment houses.
