Rosé wines of the year 2022 awarded at ProWein
St. Antony Winery and Château d'Esclans are the best rosé producers
During the world's leading trade fair ProWein in Düsseldorf, the awards for the best rosé wines of 2022 were presented. Rosé wine is the trend theme of the year and convinces with increasing qualities. In total, just over 300 rosé wines convinced the jury of experts this year and were awarded a medal.
The best rosé producer in Germany in 2022 is the St. Antony winery from the Rheinhessen growing region. Within a very short time, Dirk Würtz and his team have built up an outstanding series of different rosé wines that is unparalleled in Germany. In addition, Dirk Würtz was able to accept the award for the "Best barrel-aged Rosé Rheinhessen" (Premium) for his 2020 Wunderschön PURE Rosé.
The best rosé producer in France this year is Château d'Esclans, a winery from La Motte in Provence that is already very well known for its excellent rosé wines.
Rosé wine is the trendy topic and has been clearly demonstrating for several years that it is not a compromise between red and white wine, but has its very own signature. Rosé is gaining in importance worldwide and wine connoisseurs can find both fun, easy-drinking terrace wines, but also highly complex, exciting wines that can be stored.
A total of 307 rosé wines from all over the world were awarded this year, 55 wines were rated with 90 points and more. All awarded rosé wines as well as the special awards can be found on the following pages.
