Meininger’s Wine Business International contributor Miquel Hudin has been named the winner of the Drink Writer category of the fifth annual Fornum & Mason Food and Drink Awards, announced last night in London.
Originally from California, Miquel Hudin writes for a number of prestigious publications, including Decanter and World of Fine Wine. Now based in the Catalonia region of Spain, he is also a regular visitor to France, Croatia and Georgia as well. He has previously won the 2016 Geoffrey Roberts Award for his forthcoming book on the wines of Georgia.
Henry Jeffreys won the category of Debut Drink Book for his book Empire of Booze, looking at the history of Britain through the prism of alcohol. Pete Brown won the Drink Book award for his work The Pub.
Now in their fifth year, the annual Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards celebrate the best writing, publishing and broadcasting on the subjects of food and drink.
Fortnum & Mason is a historic department store in Piccadilly, London that opened in 1707. It is particularly renowned for its Food Hall and selections of tea.
