Award Ceremony “Best of Show” at the world’s leading wine trade fair ProWein // Boisset named “Best Producer France // Nippozana Riserva named “Best Chianti”

90 international wine growers received their MUNDUS VINI “Best of Show” award on the opening day of ProWein, the world leading wine trade fair. Their wines have been awarded as the best of its category at the 22nd Grand International Wine Award

Beside Marchese Lamberto Frescobaldi, who was awarded “Best of Show Chianti” for his 2014 Nipozzano Riserva, awards were given to Rodrigo Soto, Gonzalez Byass, for “Best of Show Chile red”, Gergely Goreczky from Grand Tokaji (“Best of Show Hungary”), Franz Wehrheim from Dr. Wehrheim winery in Pfalz (“Best of Show Pinot Blanc Germany”), Hervé Schwendenmann from Cooperative Wolfberger (“Best of Show Alsace noble sweet”), Alberto Zenato, Azienda Vitivinicola Zenato (“Best of Show Amarone della Valpolicella Classico”), Diogo Teixeira Coelho from Quinta da Raza (“Best of Show Vinho Verde”), Javier Galarreta from Araex/Spanish Fine Wines (“Best of Show Rueda” and “Best of Show Navarra”) and many more.

Beside the best wines of its category, MUNDUS VINI awards wineries for the best collection. “Best Producer Argentina” is named Peñaflor, “Best Producer Australia” goes to Kilikanoon Wines. From European continent “Best Producer France” is named Boisset, “Best Producer Italy” is Cantine San Marzano, “Best Producer Portugal” goes to Casa Santos Lima, “Best Producer Spain” is Gonzalez Byass, “Best Producer Germany” is named Georg Müller Stiftung and “Best Cooperative Germany” goes to Winzer Sommerach.

For the best import collection, GES Sorrentino, one of the leading Italy specialists in Germany, is named “Best Importer”.

With the “Best of Show” ceremony MUNDUS VINI and ProWein see many high-class wineries from all over the world, confirming their quality, as well as many “newcomer” from well-known as well as unknown wine regions from all over the world.

The “Best of Show” awards were handed over by the MUNDUS VINI management board named Director Degustation Christian Wolf, Robert Joseph, Michael Hornickel and Prof. Dr. Ulrich Fischer.
