For our 20th anniversary, nearly 200 international wine experts will judge more than 6,000 wines
On Thursday, 23 February 2017, the 20thGrand International Wine Award MUNDUS VINI will take place in the Saalbau in Neustadt, Germany. Exactly 6,167 wines from 40 different wine producing countries will be tasted and evaluated by an international jury of experts. The best wines will be awarded the recognized and coveted medals Silver, Gold and Grand Gold.
More than 1,500 of the wines submitted for tasting are from Italy, followed by Spain (1,200), as well as by France and Portugal (700 respectively).
Nearly 700 of the wines registered in the 20th Grand International Wine Award, come from Germany, most of them from the Pfalz (185), Baden (145), Württemberg (83) as well as Franken (63) and Rheinhessen (60).
The winning wines from the spring tasting will be presented at the MUNDUS VINI tasting area at ProWein in Düsseldorf, the world's largest wine trade fair, from 19 to 21 March 2017. These special award winning wines will also be honoured at a prestigious award ceremony on the first day of the exhibition. The MUNDUS VINI board will personally award the certificate to the winery.
MUNDUS VINI was founded 16 years ago by Meininger Verlag and rapidly became one of the most significant wine competitions in the world. The Wine Award is carried out in spring and late summer.
