4,300 wines from all over the world in the competition
Some 2,300 Rieslings underwent blind tasting at the 13th edition of the world’s largest Riesling competition. The 126 expert judges carefully scrutinised the Rieslings over several rounds of tasting. Today, the award ceremony was held at MEININGER VERLAG. In eight categories, the top 30 wineries, both from Germany and abroad, were honoured for their finest Rieslings.
With 1,090 beers submitted, the fifth Meininger’s International Craft Beer Award set a new record for the number of entries. The 84 experts on the international judging panel closely
scrutinised the beers back in April – and the award ceremony was held yesterday in Neustadt’s Saalbau centre. At the ceremony, 90 breweries from Germany and elsewhere were honoured for the quality of their beers.

This year, too, saw the presentation of international wine awards one day ahead of ProWein in Düsseldorf. The winners are Volker Raumland, Peter Riegel, Marvin R. Shanken, José Luis Muguiro Aznar, the Perrin family, and Philipp Schladerer.
