The coveted awards, which are presented every year on the eve of the ProWein in Düsseldorf, go this year to Markus Molitor, Paul-François Vranken, Christophe Salin, the Frescobaldi family, Bernd G. Siebdrat and Nonino.

186 medals for wines from abroad
Last week saw the end of a veritable tasting marathon in Neustadt, Germany, with 4300 wines from all over the world. The 150 jury members from 38 countries, who had travelled to the Palatinate in Germany for this year’s MUNDUS VINI Summer Tasting, presented the highest award, Grand Gold, 22 times, Gold 781 times and Silver 920 times to wines of very good to excellent quality.

Thursday, 1 September 2016 sees the start of the four-day MUNDUS VINI summer tasting in Germany’s Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, during which 4,300 wines from 38 nations will be tasted and judged by an international jury.
2,600 wines competed in the world’s largest Riesling competition – Rhineland-Palatinate Minister Wissing presented the awards
