The results of the 25th Grand International Wine Award have been announced
To announce the best wines of the MUNDUS VINI Summer Tasting 2019 was the challenging but also honorable task of the 170 wine experts from 45 countries who visited the heart of the Palatinate region at the end of August.
The results of the 25th Grand International Wine Award are now released: 14 Grand Gold, 818 Gold and 928 Silver medals were awarded by the expert jury.
In total the wines from Italy presented themselves best at the anniversary event, thus winning the unofficial country competition with a total of 487 medals. The German wineries (307 medals) are in second place this year and for the first time overtake their colleagues from Spain (283). Fourth place went to Portugal (132 medals), followed closely by France (122 medals).
The best producer in Australia is Casella Family Brands (12 medals), from Chile VIÑA LUIS FELIPE EDWARDS (12 medals), from Germany the Vier Jahreszeiten Winzer eG (16 medals), France VRANKEN-POMMERY (12 medals), from Italy Caviro Sca (15 medals), New Zealand Marisco Vineyards (23 medals), Portugal Casa Ermelinda Freitas - Vinhos (9 medals), Spain Felix Solis Avantis (14 medals) and from South Africa the KWV (8 medals).
As the best importer of the Summer Tasting, Mack & Schühle / Weinwelt is honored. The overall range distributed by the company in Germany has been awarded 14 gold and 13 silver medals.
